Hi! I’m Jo. I grew up on a small farm in rural New Zealand and my childhood spent immersed in nature continues to inspire the tread-lightly choices I make as an adult.
For most of my life, I definitely didn’t love my skin. As a teenager I struggled with milia and acne, and like most people I tackled it head on with scrubs and lotions designed to deep clean what I saw as dirty, oily skin, but the more I scrubbed, the worse it became. After trying every skincare product on the market I resorted to prescription medication which got rid of the acne but left my skin dull and dry. In 2005 I was introduced to botanical oils by an aesthetician who blended them like magic potions and, rather than using a harsh approach, treated my difficult skin with gentle, nurturing care. Within a day or two, my face was glowing for the first time ever and I finally fell in love with my skin. Botanical oil blends were almost unheard of back then, so I dove into researching and blending oils that would support skin to repair itself rather than fighting against it. I wanted to create quality, plant-based oil blends for a healthy glowing complexion. Ten years later in 2015, LOVESKIN was born.
