3 ways to help your skin if you're having a breakout
Do you feel like you're in a constant battle with breakouts?
Do you struggle with "problem" skin?
Even though your skin may be imbalanced, it isn't broken. It doesn't need to be 'fixed' by the traditional definition.
For just a moment, remember that your skin is amazing organ that keeps your body safe and balanced! It regulates body temperature, provides a protective barrier, keeps vital organs hydrated, produces essential vitamin D, senses danger and delight via sensory receptors, secretes and excretes to keep the body healthy, and naturally produces melanin to protect you from scorching immediately in the sun. In other words, it's a thing of MANY talents!
Think about it: if you accidentally cut your finger in the kitchen, your body will naturally generate new tissue and eventually mend all on its own. Isn't that amazing??
While applying topical treatments will play a supportive role in fast-tracking your body's natural healing process, they alone are not what restores your skin.
If we remember that our skin is biologically designed to protect and heal itself, naturally, we will adjust our approach to its care. This is why at LOVESKIN, we believe in working with our skin instead of fighting against it.
Avoid touching your face as much as possible. If you're experiencing a breakout, that's a good indication that you probably have a damaged skin barrier, which means that your skin is susceptible to dirt and bacteria, and the dirt and bacteria in your hands is only going to spread around your face and cause further breakouts.
Avoid squeezing this is going to cause scarring in the future and may also, once again spread the bacteria and cause further acne spot treatments or skin resurfacing techniques are only gonna further damage your skin barrier, which will just lead to more breakouts in the future.
In terms of the overall treatment of the skin, you want to look for products that strengthen and rebuild the skin barrier so that you no longer experience acne in the future. But there are some things that you can do to improve the appearance of the acne you're experiencing.
Try the follow tips to help ease and repair your breakouts without the need for aggressive treatments or synthetic ingredients.
1. Use a Guasha to reduce redness and the size of spots.
Don't use this if the skin is broken and the area is weeping and make sure it's clean when you do use it.
It's a common misconception that you cannot use a Guasha on acne. Your Guasha tool actually helps reduce flare-ups, redness, and the size of acne by moving congestion and improving circulation. Just remember to clean your Guasha after each use. Shop our LOVESKIN Guasha here.
2. Try Skin Soaking to help hydrate skin and soften pores.
This involves taking a warm, damp face cloth and holding it to the affected area for around 30 seconds.
Skin soaking will remove blockages and help regulate the skin’s natural oil production. Unsure of how to soak your skin? Learn about it here.
3. Give yourself a DIY cryotherapy treatment with Facial Icing
Don't apply the ice directly to the skin. Wrap it in a damp face cloth. First, the ice will reduce the inflammation and improve the circulation. Taking the redness out of the area and improving its appearance.
Facial icing reduces inflammation and redness and improve circulation. Icing constricts the blood vessels is your face, which can lessen the appearance of acne, taking the redness out of the area and improving its appearance. .
