We develop concentrated, multifunctional formulas that combine advanced active ingredients with complementary skin-supporting technologies to deliver targeted benefits within a considered skincare routine.
Our approach is grounded in skin physiology. Rather than addressing concerns in isolation, we consider how hydration, barrier function, sensitivity and visible signs of ageing interact — then formulate to support these interconnected needs.
Cosmetic cheimst owned, we bring together clinically researched bioactives, biomimetic technologies and purposeful botanicals at carefully selected concentrations.
Every ingredient is chosen for its contribution to the finished formula. We consider efficacy, compatibility, delivery and skin tolerance, balancing the potential of high-performance actives with the needs of challenging skin.
Performance isn't simply about more ingredients or higher concentrations. It's about choosing the right actives, in the right ratios and formulating them to work together.

RESEARCH & INNOVATION
Where research becomes results.
Our approach to innovation combines scientific research, hands-on formulation expertise and a comprehensive programme of laboratory and consumer evaluation.
We investigate advances in skin biology and cosmetic chemistry, drawing on published research, clinical ingredient studies and technical data from specialist ingredient innovators. We source and assess promising bioactives and technologies from Aotearoa and around the world, selecting those with credible evidence and a clear role in our formulations.
That research comes to life in our own fully equipped cosmetic formulation laboratory, where we develop and refine formulas, optimise concentrations, investigate ingredient interactions and evaluate stability, compatibility and sensory performance.
We evaluate the finished formulation, not just the ingredients inside it.
Our testing programme combines in-house laboratory assessment with specialist external testing partners, including methods such as transepidermal water loss (TEWL) measurement to assess skin barrier performance.
Through our LoveSkin Lab Panels and consumer studies, we also evaluate selected products in everyday use, gathering feedback on skin feel, tolerance and perceived results.
These findings inform our development decisions, helping us refine formulations and explore new technologies as the science evolves.

THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND LOVESKIN
Personal experience. Professional expertise.
For Loveskin's owner and cosmetic chemist, Tess, understanding challenging skin began with her own.
Her personal experience shaped a lasting interest in skin health and the science behind it.
Through cosmetic chemistry and extensive research into skin physiology and formulation technologies, Tess recognised a gap between basic everyday skincare and specialist dermatological treatment.
She saw an opportunity to bring sophisticated, evidence-led formulations and advanced ingredient technologies to people whose skin needed more considered care.
Taking Loveskin into its next chapter offered the opportunity to build on an established botanical skincare brand and develop the high-performance products she believed were missing from everyday skincare.
"Having dealt with eczema and acne myself, and later worked with people experiencing their own skin concerns, I could see how often skincare fell short. I became fascinated by advances in cosmetic science and how we could use them to develop better everyday products for people whose skin isn't straightforward."

Loveskin is independently owned, formulated and made in small batches in our own laboratory in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We bring together carefully selected New Zealand botanicals and advanced ingredient technologies from around the world, choosing what's best for each formulation.
Developing and making our own products gives us direct control over formulation, manufacturing and quality, and the independence to continually refine and improve what we create.
